The Double D sits on 30 acres in River Bend Ranch of Hunt, TX. We enjoy sitting on our patio and watching the various birds and wildlife. As the sun goes down over the hills it begins to cool down considerably and we build a campfire and can sit around it for hours. We take leisurely strolls around the perimeter of the property. There is a ledge that seems to have been there just for that purpose. We can almost walk the entire perimeter on the rim. Towards the back we have to dip down through the draw that cuts through the place. The majority of the time the draw is dry but when we get a good rain the water rushes through the draws like it’s in a hurry to get somewhere and is wonderful to watch. We enjoy sitting in the swing that is located at the site where the main house will be built. From the swing we have an awesome view of the valley looking south. There are so many things to do. We have river front access to the Guadalupe and have fished and kayaked down the Guadalupe numerous times. Some days we just go down there to float around and relax. Other days we get a little target shooting practice in or shoot skeet. We love driving around the ranch road in our ’55 Jeep Willy. Callie, our beagle, loves the jeep as much as we do. We have to be careful not to say jeep in front of her unless we are ready to take her along.
